Social Media Tools

Which social media formats are the best to use for success?

You can ask 10 different people and you will receive 10 different answers based on each persons preference.  Since I was never able to determine which ones were best for my blog I tried them all.  Some were much easier to use and understand than others, but none of them made me any money.

What social media did for me though is help me make connections throughout the internet.  In turn these connections helped me find interested customers and I still have the connections even 9 years later.

My preference of social media formats consist of only a few I use daily.  I will explain in detail how each one works and how they help. The ones listed below are the ones I use daily.  These seem to give me more connections for my niches:

facebook-page

We all know facebook is at the top for all marketers just like google is the best search engine for ranking.  I have used facebook ads a few times, never saw much activity from these ads and I was giving something away free.  I built a fan page and a group page, which never really took off.  I didn’t stop there though and I’m glad I didn’t!  What has worked though is very simply going to my own blog Tools for Your Success and finding the page or post I like, share it on my facebook timeline.  This gets lots of attention and quite a bit of  interacting, especially if you add like minded people as your friends.  The best way to find these like-minded people is by going into groups that have the same niche as your blog and looking at the comments.  Add the users who have commented and a lot of them will join as your friend if your facebook page is set up so they know who and what kind of page they are joining.  It’s best not to bombard your timeline with shares from your blog, a few a day will keep these friends in the know.  My blogs use SumoMe; free tools to grow your websites traffic.

google+

Now not many people say much about this social media format.  I had actually totally forgotten about google have a social media page.  Google+ is a place to connect with friends and family, and explore all of your interests. Share photos, send messages, and stay in touch with the people and topics.  So, you see it is just like facebook and all the other social media formats.  I have had more activity from google+ than facebook.  I would suggest you set up an account, set your profile, add a few pictures and start playing around with the site.  Get as many followers in your niche to follow you back and continue to build on followers daily.  You can never have too many followers in your niche.  Once you have learned how the site works then once again go to your blog page or post and share a few each day with google+.  Most days when I go to my blog I go ahead and share that blog with all 5 of my social media sites.  I am sharing the same content on 5 different accounts which probably helps me get activity on my sites.  The more activity the better chance you have to get sign-ups.Twitter

This one gets a star!  I love this site.  It is simple, yet very powerful!  Just like the other 2 , set up an account, build your profile, find people to follow that fall in the niche of your product and daily send a few tweets out.  The difference in twitter and the other formats is the speed of the tweet moving down the timeline.  If you have 1000 followers someones tweet might get lost before you have had time to read it, keeping that in mind your tweet can also scroll off  others timelines quickly.  I’m telling you this so you understand why I say you need to share maybe the same content hourly, so everyone can see what you have to offer.  There are many other ways to get your content seen in twitter too. Check it out, sign-up, play with the site, get followers, and start sending content.

pinterest

Here we have a very unique social media site.  Pinterest allows you to pin photos to boards, view other peoples boards and use their pins on your own board.  When Pinterest first started it was used mainly by women, but as time went on savvy entrepreneurs learned how to make pinterest adapt to their websites sale page.  This is no more complicated than Facebook or Google+.  It is just a different set up that uses photos instead of written content.  Humans react faster to photos than they do to the written word.  Now you understand how Pinterest could really help getting you some paying customers.  Once again, sign-up, build your profile, build a board with the photos of your website or blog, start following other boards you think will compliment your niche and start pinning today!
